A new line of guy focused signs may prove interesting for gift shops and other retailers in search of brisk selling new products. The signs, offered by SJT Enterprises of Westlake, OH, come in a Man Cave or a Neighborhood Pub style, and each is personalized with first names. Sample signs read, for example, “Dave’s Man Cave,” or, “Jeff’s Man Cave.” The others say, “Matt’s Neighborhood Pub,” or, “Mike’s Neighborhood Pub,” and they look like traditional pub signs. SJT refers to these as He-Man Signs, and each style has varieties with about 100 different male names.
A key selling point, which attracts a lot of buyer interest, is that all these signs carry the Made In America label. “We make everything here in Ohio,” says SJT president and owner, Tim Smith. “Our biggest selling product is a decorative wood plaque, and on the back it says, ‘Made in U.S.A., not in China.’ People love to see and hear that.”
SJT is selling to a vendor base that is on the rise. “It is definitely growing,” says Smith. “A lot of our vendors have proven to be excellent customers, ordering weekly or every other week or so, because the products we make sell so well.” Great sales are not the only reason for the repeat business. “We provide excellent customer service, and ship promptly,” Smith says. The plastic He-Man signs are very affordable, wholesaling for 60 cents each, and a freestanding floor display is available. Making it even easier for vendors on a budget, SJT has a minimum order of $100.
